Meet the maker

Our Brand Story Three Handbags began with a lifelong love for creativity. Art has always been a part of my world. I have always been drawn to drawing, design and exploring ideas through art. But after becoming unemployed, I found myself discovering a different form of creativity—handcrafting through crochet. What began as an interest soon became something I genuinely enjoyed. As an artist, I naturally found myself experimenting, combining different elements, textures, colours and shapes to create designs that felt different. This creative exploration eventually led to the floral handbags that became an important part of Three Handbags. I don't believe handmade has to mean perfect. I believe it should mean intentional, personal and created with care. I strive for quality while allowing each piece to retain the character of something made by human hands. Every Three Handbags creation is made for someone who wants to feel special. My hope is that when you carry one of our pieces, you don't simply see a handbag, you feel a sense of individuality, confidence and beauty. Being a South African artisan is also an important part of this journey. South Africa is a country rich in culture, creativity and colour, and that gives me endless inspiration. From the colours around us to the many different influences within our culture, there is always something new to explore. Our vision extends far beyond crochet handbags. I want Artisan Lane to become a brand where fashion is about how you feel, not simply what you wear. A brand that brings luxury, creativity and individuality together, eventually growing into a fashion house with a wider collection of products. For now, every piece is part of that journey.
